What You Will Be Doing As Mobile Game Tester
- Test Planning: Collaborate with the development team and project managers to understand the game’s requirements and design specifications. Develop test plans and strategies based on these requirements.
- Test Execution: Execute various types of tests, including functional testing, performance testing, compatibility testing, and usability testing. Play the game extensively to identify and document bugs, issues, or inconsistencies.
- Bug Reporting: Accurately and clearly report identified bugs and issues using bug tracking systems or test management tools. Include detailed descriptions, steps to reproduce, and supporting materials to assist the development team in troubleshooting and fixing the issues.
- Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure that previously identified issues have been resolved and that fixes have not introduced new problems. Validate the game’s functionality and stability after bug fixes or updates.
- Test Documentation: Prepare comprehensive test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, test data, and test reports. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of test activities and results.

Skills Required for the Mobile Game Tester
- Mobile Gaming Knowledge: Strong understanding and passion for mobile games, including different genres, gameplay mechanics, and user experience principles. Familiarity with popular mobile games and the mobile gaming industry.
- Testing Methodologies: Knowledge of software testing methodologies, including functional testing, regression testing, usability testing, and performance testing. Understanding of test case creation, test execution, and defect tracking.
- Mobile Platforms and Devices: Proficiency in using various mobile platforms (iOS, Android) and familiarity with different mobile devices, screen resolutions, and operating systems. Ability to set up and configure test environments for mobile game testing.
- Bug Tracking and Test Management Tools: Experience working with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or similar tools. Ability to accurately log bugs, track their status, and generate test reports.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to identify and document bugs, glitches, or usability issues accurately. Ability to follow test plans and scripts meticulously and detect even subtle problems in gameplay or functionality.
