Objective and Purpose
The NITI Aayog Internship Scheme is designed with the following objectives:
To provide selected candidates with a short-term exposure to NITI Aayog’s diverse verticals, divisions, and units.
To engage young academic talent in the work of NITI Aayog, creating a mutually beneficial experience.
To offer interns insights into the functioning of the Indian Government and the formulation of developmental policies, encouraging them to contribute by generating empirical analysis, briefing reports, policy papers, and more.
Internship Details
Mode: On-site
Eligibility: The program is open to bonafide students of recognized universities or institutions in India or abroad. Eligibility criteria vary based on the level of study:
Undergraduate students should have completed or appeared in the term-end exams of the second year or the fourth semester of their bachelor’s degree program, with a minimum of 85% or equivalent marks in their 12th class.
Graduate students should have completed or appeared in the term-end exams of the first year or the second semester of their postgraduate program, or be pursuing research/PhD, with a minimum of 70% or equivalent marks in their bachelor’s degree.
Students awaiting admission to higher studies after completing their graduation/post-graduation and who have secured a cumulative mark of 70% or more in all years/semesters of their previous program are also eligible.
The gap between the final exam result declaration and the desired start of the internship should not exceed six months.
