What You Will Be Doing As Data Protection Engineer?

• Data Security Implementation: You will be responsible for implementing data security measures, including access controls, encryption, data loss prevention (DLP) solutions, and identity and access management (IAM) systems. This involves configuring and managing security tools and technologies to safeguard sensitive data.
• Risk Assessment and Analysis: Conducting risk assessments and analyzing potential threats to data security is a crucial aspect of the role. You will identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and develop strategies to address them. This may involve analyzing security logs, performing penetration testing, and staying updated on emerging threats and industry best practices.
• Data Privacy Compliance: Data protection engineers often work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to data privacy regulations, such as GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) or CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act). You will assist in implementing privacy policies, conducting privacy impact assessments, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Skills Required for Data Protection Engineer

• Basic understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, Routing, Switching and Firewalls
• General knowledge of virtualization software such as VMWare vSphere
• Knowledge of Zerto and ASR replication software or similar enterprise level software
• Knowledge of Data backup and recovery with Acronis and Azure Cloud Backups or similar enterprise level software
• Deployment and troubleshooting of operating systems and applications
• Microsoft Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 2019-2021 and 365 Microsoft Server 2012-2019
• General knowledge of Microsoft O365
• Basic experience with public cloud technologies
• Familiar with cyber-security concepts (Multi-Factor Authentication, Anti-virus/Anti-malware, Software Firewall, Web Filtering)
• General knowledge of Storage Area Networks
