About Standard Chartered Company
One of the few British banks that are still so established in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East-based in central London, as usual, is Standard Chartered PLC. Its charter is dated to 1969, when few knew what a modern global bank could accomplish as espresso machines were humming in the City. Today the institution is safely tinkering with retail accounts to hard-core investment banking, with its special drawer, which is known as the emerging markets, left open. Innovation and sustainability are the terms that managers talk about all the time, not because it is a fashion of chief-executive but because the very existence of their economic life is concentrated in the locations where such buzz-words must refer to tangible projects. Inflexible governance and continuous monitoring of risks are the scaffold that holds the building together that cannot be seen.
