Sutherland Walkin Drive –Senior Medical Coding Responsibilities

  • Auditing and Quality Assurance: Reviewing the work of junior coders for accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines and regulations. This includes both internal audits and external audits in response to payer or regulatory inquiries.
  • Complex Coding Cases: Handling more complex or specialized coding cases that require advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding guidelines.
  • Education and Training: Providing training and education to junior coders, physicians, and other healthcare providers on coding guidelines, documentation requirements, and regulatory changes.
  • Research and Analysis: Staying updated on changes to coding regulations, payer policies, and healthcare laws to ensure coding practices remain compliant. Analyzing coding trends and data to identify areas for improvement and efficiency.
  • Coding Policy Development: Collaborating with management and other stakeholders to develop and implement coding policies and procedures that ensure accurate and compliant coding practices across the organization.
