- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, addressing inquiries, and assisting with their purchases or transactions. Cashiers are often the first point of contact for customers.
- Cash Handling: Accurately handle cash, checks, credit cards, and electronic payments. Count and verify the money in the cash drawer at the start and end of each shift to ensure accuracy.
- Transaction Processing: Efficiently and accurately process customer transactions, including purchases, returns, exchanges, and refunds. Ensure that all transactions comply with company policies and procedures.
- Point of Sale (POS) System: Operate the cash register or POS system to record transactions, calculate totals, apply discounts or promotions, and generate receipts.
