According to reports, Infosys has introduced a “power programme” for universities that practice differential hiring. Under this initiative, the IT major can receive annual packages of up to ₹9 lakh. Citing two people in the know, Economic Times reported that the company’s entry-level fresher pay packages are between ₹3-3.5 lakh which makes the new programme different. A person in the know told the outlet,”These hiring categories emphasize coding challenges, software tasks, and specialized skill assessments for both tests and interviews. At Infosys, the salary packages offered range between ₹4-6.5 lakh and ₹9 lakh.”
“Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has a similar initiative called ‘Prime,’ which targets the specialized hiring of freshers for software development roles, offering salaries ranging from ₹9-11 lakh per annum.”TCS hires under three categories for freshmen: “Prime,” “Digital,” and “Ninja,” with packages starting at ₹7.5 lakh, and ₹3.6 lakh, respectively.
