The Role: The Associate Quantitative Analyst at Morningstar will work on the Indexes or Quant Research and Development team based in Shenzhen, Guangzhou or Beijing to assist with a new initiatives from end-to-end. In this role you will work on all stages of the product development life cycle, including design, data validation, analysis and implementation of benchmark indexes and quantitative models across asset classes such as equity and fixed income. The company is looking for strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, programming skills (Python or R), as well as experience working with very large datasets using SQL or similar tools. You will work with research, product and technology teams around the world to verify data, conduct quantitative analysis, and help launch & maintain our investment products.

Responsibilities for Associate
- Check that the worldwide rules of accounting and reporting are followed and observed.
- Help to implement a fast and efficient close process each month-end, making sure everything is recorded accurately and in completion consistent with US GAAP.
- Aid with certain aspects of the accounting process as directed periodically such billing, A/R, A/P., GL accounting, Revenue Recognition and Accounting for expenses.
- Prepare and install Physical verification of fixed assets, other jobs related to Fixed assets physical verification etc.
- Fixed Assets reconciliation with Physical Verification report, With US GAAP ledger/ Indian GAAP synchronisation Others – Bank reconciliation with Issues from physical verification thing etc.
- Coordinate and direct the Financial Shared services teams on relevant matters, working with them as required across process The ideal – Can demonstrate proven experience of some or all aspects of these responsibilities at a senior level
- Prepare monthly financials for accuracy and completion of the numbers, review these financials, as well as account reconciliations, highlight any issues to management.
- Find and support process improvements, clean up of accounts, changes or enhancements.
- Create / improve records or documentation of accounting procedures.
