ABOUT COMPANY

EQ, short for Emotional Quotient, is a measure of a person’s emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence refers to the ability to recognize, understand, and manage one’s own emotions, as well as to perceive and respond appropriately to the emotions of others. It involves skills such as empathy, self-awareness, self-regulation, and social awareness.

Unlike IQ (Intelligence Quotient), which measures cognitive abilities, EQ focuses on emotional and social competencies. EQ is considered an important aspect of personal and professional success, as it impacts various areas of life, including relationships, leadership, and overall well-being.

The concept of emotional intelligence was popularized by psychologist Daniel Goleman in the 1990s. Goleman proposed that emotional intelligence consists of five main components:

Self-awareness: The ability to recognize and understand one’s own emotions, strengths, weaknesses, and values.

Self-regulation: The ability to control and manage one’s emotions, impulses, and behavior in a positive and constructive manner.

Motivation: The ability to set and work toward goals with enthusiasm and persistence, even in the face of challenges and setbacks.

Empathy: The ability to understand and share the feelings and perspectives of others, and to respond compassionately to their emotions.

Social skills: The ability to build and maintain healthy relationships, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with others.

EQ can be developed and improved through various strategies, including self-reflection, mindfulness practices, social awareness exercises, and active listening. Enhancing emotional intelligence can lead to better self-management, improved relationships, and greater overall emotional well-being.
