The DIBD Internship Programme is available for Indian students from accredited colleges and universities that holds a 60% GPA within the last qualification attempted, or has undertaken 2 years of education in a program course. Domain specific internships are offered in technical fields (Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Electronics), legal (LL.B.), finance/accounts (Commerce or Finance), as well as non-technical domains which include any graduate preferably with an MBA. A total of 50 interns are needed across emerging technologies, product management, finance, legal HR social media marketing and others. Each intern gets ₹20,000/month stipend with a minimum of 2 months mentoring guided internship. Sessions take place bi-annually in New Delhi. As long as the advertisement is within 2 weeks old, students who meet the advertised criteria may apply through DIBD and will be supported by their college/institution in application sponsorship.

Eligibility for Digital India Corporation (DIC) Internship

a) For Technical domain:

  • Bachelors of Science, Bachelors of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology or Masters of Engineering, and Master of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering and their equivalents. Or
  • Master of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical domains or related disciplines. Or
  • Masters in Computer Applications or any similar field.

b) For legal domain Bachelors in LL.B.
c) For finance/accounts specialist Bachelors in Commerce and Finance or equivalent degree.
d) For other non-technical fields Any graduate with an MBA qualification in the relevant field is preferred but not mandatory.

Duration of Internship Programme

The Internship Programme will be held two times a year, with specific dates set by the Competent Authority. Selection of interns will take place in groups or ‘batches’. All pertinent information such as timetables, policies, and other relevant directives will be provided to the interns at the start of the internship.
The period of internship commences at a minimum duration of two months, but may increase up to three months based on performance, DIBD needs, and the intern’s availability. Each group, or single intern will receive dedicated mentorship from DIBD staff.

How to Apply for Internship Programme

  • Applications will be accepted and considered for only two weeks from the time of advertisement exclusively in the BHASHINI, DIC, NeGD, or MeitY websites. The applications must be submitted online, with no exceptions.
  • These applications are required to be sponsored/forwarded by the Institute where he/she is currently studying or has recently graduated from (mandatory).

About Digital India Corporation company :

MeitY – the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology – has initiated an aegis for Bhahini, the National Language Translation Mission under the Digital India Programme. It was PM Modi himself who unveiled it on 4th July 2022 during his visit to Gandhinagar, Gujarat for Digital India Week 2022. The vision of Bhashini is to “Harness natural language technologies to enable a diverse ecosystem of contributors, partnering entities, citizens in transcending language barriers”. The goal formulates reasons toward aiding digital inclusion and Aatma Nirbhar Bharat.
The ecosystem’s construction falls under DIBD which is Digital India Bhashini Division as independent divisions under Digital India Corporation (DIC). These or DIBD’s are responsible for managing and executing “Bhashini: The National Language Translation Mission”. It collaborates with major educational centers like IITs and IIITs which are developing cutting edge AI powered language models for several Indian languages.
