Responsibilities For Incident Analyst
- Observe systems and networks for recognition and response to threats and anomalies.
- Document and categorize all incidents on the ticketing system (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).
- Conduct first-level troubleshooting and escalate incidents as required.
- Work with the higher-level support teams for swift resolution.
- Monitor and report on incident resolution to ensure adherence to SLAs.
- Provide status updates on incidents to relevant parties including end-users and essential stakeholders.
- Record all steps taken in resolving an incident for future reference and access.
- Investigate the primary reasons of repeat incidents to improve system stability.
- Help with the creation of analytic reports and the associated graphical dashboards.
- Engage in the review of incidents and initiatives to enhance the performance of processes.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Deep knowledge of ITIL concepts and the incident management cycle
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Capable of working under pressure during a critical incident response
- Experience with monitoring and alerting systems
- Ability to think critically and troubleshoot problems
- Familiarity with IT operating systems, networks, and standard business applications and software
- Thoroughness and precision with documentation processes
- Ability to triage and manage several simultaneous incidents and multiple other tasks
- Worked with ServiceNow, Remedy, or Jira and other ticketing systems
- Knowledge of basic scripting and automation techniques such as PowerShell and Python is an asset
