Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for calling insurance companies (in the United States) on behalf of doctors and physicians, as well as following up on outstanding accounts receivable.
- Prioritize pending claims for calling from the aging basket.
- Should be capable of convincing the claims firm (payers) to pay their outstanding claims.
- To determine whether the insurance information provided by the patient is adequate or ambiguous.
- To make a physical call in accordance with international standards and appropriate confidentially and HIPAA regulations.
- Quickly escalate problematic collection issues to management.
- Examine provider claims that have not been paid by insurance companies.
- Handling patient billing inquiries and updating account information.
