Technical Illustrator – Roles & Responsibilities
- Create detailed graphics, as needed, for technical manuals, user guides, catalogs and other instructional/technical aids.
- Communicate engineering, scientific and/or technical information/ideas that are visually complex.
- Create exploded and cutaway views, assembly and schematic drawings.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, Subject Matter Experts and technical writers to get and review product specifications.
- Ensure illustrations and drawings are to standard, guidelines and documentation.
- Use illustration and CAD programs to create, edit and/or enhance technical art.
- Make changes to illustrations as required to correct product design/engineering changes and in response to users’ feedback.
- Drawings, symbols and terms should be used consistently and as they are used in practice.
