Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct outbound calls to insurance and patients regarding outstanding medical claims and unpaid invoices.
- Chase denied, rejected or low paid claims and take the necessary action for resolution.
- Check patient coverage, benefits and claim status
- Utilize EOBs and ERAs to determine reasons for payment.
- The corrected claims are resubmitted and appeal claims are prepared for denial whenever needed.
- Document all calls and account updates in the billing system.
- Aging reports to work down open AR balances.
- Work with internal billing and coding teams to reconcile claim variances.
