Role & Responsibilities for Prior Authorization
- Confirm patient insurance coverage, benefits and eligibility
- Authorization for procedures/review authorization requests for surgery/injections,
- Supporting documentation that insures will need to get approvals.
- Manage and continually update the status of authorization, order, and tasks in the system.
- Pursue the insurance companies on new authorization requests
- Keep records updated and be in accordance with payer guidelines and organizational standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff and insurance representatives to advocate on issues related to authorizations.
