Responsibilities for Mortgage Underwriters
- Review mortgage loan applications for qualification
- Review borrower documentation, including bank and income statements, credit reports, employment verification information and identification types.
- Assess financial history, credit back ground, repayment ability and level of risk associated before initiating any credit transaction and deepen your knowledge about the borrower credit worthiness.
- Ensuring that all documents are compliant with the company’s Standard and regulatory/statutory requirements.
- Flag inaccurate data and communication issue with applicants when required.
- Assessment of risk on a broad basis before advising whether or not to approve the loan
- Track records, assign application status in the system.
- Get source data by discussing with all loan officers, processors and customers.
- Detect fraud, anomalies and risk cases at an early stage.
