Roles & Responsibilities For Platform Operations Engineer-Office Role
- Reaction to hardware/software/network/OS alarm, in a timely manner as per pre-defined SLAs.
- Managing, maintaining and tracking infrastructure of 3,50,000 + Linux servers, 14500 + Layer 3 and 22,000 + Layer 2 devices.
- Troubleshoot network connection problem with different ISPs around the world, to resolve the problem of packet loss/filtering, network latency, and routing problem.
- Monitoring pattern and performance of the network traffic to identify anomalies in the network.
- Troubleshooting other router issues, e.g. bad ports, misconfigurations, Routing policy changes and Handling BGP peering issues.
- Detecting and fixing switch-related issues, examples (but not limited to) switch upgrades, STP problems, VLAN setup, malfunctioning network interfaces
- Diagnose network problems in akamai fabric clusters and backbone network.
- This permanent night shift position is full on-site with no work-at-home option, so operations at any time of the day or night are ensured.
Skill Required
- Have experience in networking in a NOC or the like and possess a credential seen globally such as CCNA or JNCIA.
- At least 6+ months of experience in the field and a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
- Familiar with Routers/Switches – Cisco, Juniper.
- Possess technical analysis and trouble shooting skills.
- Be well-developed analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
